Introduction

People in different parts of the world eat different things for breakfast. During this task you will find out what some people like to eat and what they traditionally eat for breakfast as well as special food and physical activity celebrations they enjoy. Your teacher will work with you to help decide how long you will need to work on this activity.

Interviews

As you click and read about the different people you may like to draw and/or list commonly used ingredients such as grains and cereals, some popular dishes, food eaten at a typical meal, special foods eaten at celebrations. This will help you when you are planning your own breakfast celebration. You may need to do further research on what actual food items or celebrations are. For example ocha which is a Japanese brown tea or Sinhalese which is New Years for Sri Lanka.

Click on the persons name to find out more about what they eat for breakfast and investigate about the different cultures and countries.

Reflection

Now it is your time to think about what you have read, heard and collected about breakfast and everyday physical activity around the world.

What cultures interested you the most?
Were there any breakfast ideas that you thought sounded yummy, fun to make and nutritious?
Did any particular culture participate in any specific physical activities everyday?
Write some notes about these interviews, as this will help you in the next part of the Learning Quest
