  The learning areas are integrated throughout the Occasional Carnival Learning Quest.

The following ideas and activities may assist in addressing learning outcomes within these key learning areas:

Health and PE - Difference of occasional activity and food and when these things happen. The importance of fueling our bodies for physical activity. The importance of safely preparing for occasional activity. Understanding of pulse rate, how to take it and what effects different activities have on our heart.

Science - Learn what happens to the body when students rest, eat, drink and do physical activity. Understanding of certain body parts and systems.

Mathematics - Working with data collected from taking student’s pulse rate in different situations and graphically representing this.

Language Arts / English - Recording notes from research and developing a short story or picture. Presentation.

Other skills learnt or developed from doing the Occasional Learning Quest include:

Practising, training, investigating, sharing, planning, collecting data, working in small teams, pairs and as a class, working individually, recording, awareness of safety, making conclusions, presenting, using technology to record information, using the Internet to support research and learning of occasional foods and physical activity.
