| Task
As a class you will be classifying a selection
of foods and physical activities and matching
them to the 5 Fun Ways Wheel.
1. Start by trying the online
interactive Everyday Habits
5 Fun Ways Wheel activity to build up where different
foods and physical activity
may
fit within
the 5 Fun Ways Wheel.
Match the pictures with the 5 Fun Ways
themes. Drag the pictures onto the 5 Fun Ways Wheel under the them you think
they belong to. You can only place 2 images under each theme. Try to select
a nutrition and physical activity picture for each theme. Once you have
finished this activity, print your wheel and share your choices with someone.
Did you find it hard to classify some
of the foods and activities? Talk to some
of
your class mates about your choices and
compare them. Remember that some of the
activities you have chosen might fit into
one or more of the 5 Fun Ways Wheel categories.
For example playing a game of elastics
with
your friends could provide some variety
or could be a new thing if you have never
tried it before. Your reasons for classifying
a certain activity might be different to
others in your class.
2. Now it's time to create your
own 5 Fun Ways Wheel to display in your
classroom.

As a class you will
be asked to brainstorm a list of a
variety of foods and physical activities |
| |
 |
Download the 5 Fun Ways Wheel template |
| |
 |
Now that you have a good list of
food and activities, see if you can
find picture in magazines or in clipart
and insert them on your 5 Fun Ways
Wheel. Or you may even like to draw
them |
3. A few of you may want to work
together to develop a 5 Fun Ways Wheel poster
to present to other classes about the importance
of eating a variety of foods and doing a
variety of physical activities.
Continue to add to the class physical activity
list especially those that can be used in
physical education.
Develop your own list of activities that
will provide some variety for you outside
of school.
